Subject to the provisions of section 45 and notwithstanding anything contained in the [Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974)], an offence punishable under section 56 shall be deemed to be non-cognizable within the meaning of that Code. Subs. by Act 29 of 1993, sec. 20, for "Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (5 of 1898)" (w.e.f. 08/01/1993).
