Power to issue directions:- The Chancellor may either suo moto or on the recommendation of the Government may issue such directions as may be necessary or expedient inthe interest of administration, financial or academic functioning of the University and in particular to ensure peace and tranquillity in the University and to protect the property ofthe University. 53.Power to annul the orders of the University:- The Government may, by order published in the official Gazette, annul any order, notification, resolution or any proceedings of the University which, in its opinion, is not in l/<ÿ * < : [Part IV DELHIGAZETTE :EXTRAORDINARY ' 32 9 conformity with the provisions of this Act, or the Statutes, Regulations, or Ordinances or is otherwise inconsistent with the policy of the Government: Provided that before making any such order, the Government shall afford an opportunity to the University to be heard against any such proposed action.
