(1) The Superintendent shall have power to award any of the punishments enumerated above provided in the case of separate confinement for a period exceeding one month, the previous confirmation of the Inspector General shall be obtained. (2) No officer subordinate to the Superintendent shall have power to award any punishment whatsoever. (3) No punishment shall be imposed without judicial appraisal of Sessions Judge and where such intimation, on account of emergency, is difficult, such information shall be given within two days of the action. (4) Any incident of serious or repeated misconduct by a prisoner facing trial may be intimated by the Superintendent to the trial court. Punishments to be in accordance with foregoing sections
