(1) The State Government may constitute an Authority for the purposes of effectively preventing and combating the offence of trafficking in persons. (2) The members of the Authority shall be appointed by the State Government and shall be of such number and chosen in such manner as may be prescribed. (3) The Chairperson of the Authority shall be one of the members appointed under sub-section (2) to be nominated by the State Government. (4) The term of office of the members of the Authority, the manner of filling vacancies among and the procedure to be followed in the discharge of their functions by the members shall be such as may be prescribed.
