Penalty for contravening provisions of section 97 – If any officer, servant or member of a marketing committee, when required under section 97 to furnish information with regard to the accounts or offices or affairs of the market committee or the proceedings of a market committee – (a) wilfully neglects or refuses to furnish any information; or (b) wilfully furnishes information which is false or incorrect in material particulars, Such officer, servant or member shall be punishable with imprisonment for term that may extend to one year, or with fine that may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both.
