(1) This Act may be called the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1930. [(2) It extends to the whole of India [xxxx]. (3) It shall come into force on such date 5 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. Subs. by A.O. 1950, for the former sub-section (2). The words "except the State of Jammu and Kashmir" omitted by Act 62 of 1956, Sec.2 and Schedule. This Act came into force on the 1-2-1931, see Gazette of India, 1931, Pt.I, p.35.
