(1) Subject to such rules as may be made in this behalf, the District Panchayat may appoint from amongst its members the following Standing Committees for exercising such of its powers and discharging such of its functions as may be prescribed , namely:- (a) General Standing Committee; (b) Finance, Audit and Planning Committee; (c) Works Committee; (d) Education Committee; (e) Inter-tier Standing Committee for Monitoring and Supervision; (1) Social Audit Committee; (g) Joint Committee. (2) The composition and tenure of Committees referred to in clauses (a) to(g) shall be such as may be prescribed. (3) No fee or allowances shall be payable for attending the meetings.
