Any casual vacancy in the office of the Sarpanch or the Upa-Sarpanch in the Gram Casual Panchayat, shall be filled for the remainder of his term by election in accordance with the vacancy. provisions of this Regulation: Provided that in the case of a seat or the office of Sarpanch reserved for the Scheduled Caste or the Schedule Tribe or women, no person other than the member of the Scheduled Caste or the Schedule Tribe or women shall be qualified to be chosen to such vacancy.
