(1) The State Cornmission shall, whilc inquinng into my matter refcrred to in feiating lo clauses (b) md (el of sub-section (6) of section lG, havc dl the pawcrs ofa civil court while inquiries. trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, and, in particular, in respect of the 5 1 followingmatters, namely:- - (a) snmn~oning and enforcirlg the attendance of any person and examining him on oath; I (b) discovery 8nd production of any document; (c) receiving evidcnce an affidavits; (6) requisitioning any public record or copy drereof from any court or ofice; and (e) issiring con~n~issions for tile examuiation of witnesses or documents.
