Disposal of things seized.-(1) The owner or person having the charge of any animal seized and detained shall provide from day to day for its keep while detained, and if lie fails to do so, such animal may be sold by public auction, and the expenses (if any) incurred on account of it defrayed from the proceeds of the sale. (2) When anything is seized an order for its release is subsequently passed and owner does not. within a period of one month. appear to claim such thing and tender the duties, penalties and charge (if any) due in respect thereof, it may be sold by public auction: and such duties, penalties, and charges will be defrayed from the proceeds of the sale. (3) Surplus proceeds of a sale under these rules shall, if not claimed by the owner of the things seized within a period of three months from the date of such sale be forfeited, to the collecting Government. of a sub-inspector of institxu e.
