Power to take finger prints

Power to take finger prints.— (1) Every person ordered to be detained in a Certified Institution under this Act shall at any time allow his finger-prints to be taken by the District Magistrate or any Officer empowered by him in this behalf. Manual of Goa Laws (Vol. III) –874– Prevention of Begging Act (2) Whoever refuses to allow his finger prints to be taken under sub-section (1) shall on conviction be liable to have his period of detention in a Certified Institution not exceeding three months converted to a term of imprisonment extending to a like period. (3) The sentence of imprisonment ordered under sub-section (2) shall be executed in the same manner as a sentence passed under section 6.
