Removal of difficulties.— If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the provisions of this Act, the Central Government may, by order published in the Official Gazette, do anything not inconsistent with such provisions which appears to it to be necessary or expedient for the purpose of removing the difficulty. - 11 - Notification The President has been pleased by a notification issued under section 1(2) of the Goa, Daman and Diu (Opinion Poll) Act (Act No. 38 of 1966) to bring it into force with effect from the 12th December, 1966. Panjim, 14th December, 1966. _________ Notification The following notification issued by the Central Government is hereby republished for general information:— “In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Goa, Daman and Diu (Opinion Poll) Act, 1966 (38 of 1966), the President in consultation with the Chief Election Commissioner, hereby fixes the 16th day of January, 1967 as the date on which an opinion poll shall be taken in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and the rules and orders made thereunder, (a) in relation to Goa and (b) in relation to Daman and Diu”.
