Prohibition of public meetings on the election day.— (1) No person shall convene, hold or attend any public meeting within a ward of a municipal area on the date or dates on which poll is taken for an election from the ward. (2) Any person who contravenes any provision of sub-section (1) shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to two hundred and fifty rupees.
