Power of Government to direct original or revision settlement of land revenue of any lands.—The Government may at any time direct a settlement of land revenue of any land (hereinafter referred to as an "original settlement"), or a fresh settlement thereof (hereinafter referred to as "revision settlement"), whether or not a revenue survey thereof has been made under section 56: Provided that no enhancement of assessment shall take effect before the expiration of the settlement for the time being in force.
