Section 167

Powers to enter upon and survey land.— All revenue and survey officers and persons acting under their order may enter upon and survey any land and demarcate boundaries and do all other acts necessary for the purpose of discharging their duties under this Code or any other law for the time being in force, but, in so doing, shall cause no more damage than the circumstances of the case may require: Provided that no person shall enter into any building or upon any enclosed court or garden attached to a dwelling house, except with the consent of the occupier thereof, without giving such occupier at least twenty-four hours' notice, and in making such entry due regard shall be paid to the social and religious sentiments of the occupier.
