General provision for punishment of offences.— Whoever contravenes any provision of this Act or of any rule or order made thereunder shall, if no other penalty is provided for the offence under this Act, on conviction, be punished— (a) for a first offence with fine which may extend to fifty rupees, (b) for a subsequent offence with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees.
