Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) This Act may be called the Goa, Daman and Diu Fire Force Act, 1986. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu. (3) It shall come into force in any area on such date as the Government may by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different areas and different provisions of this Act and in reference to any such provisions to the area or areas in which this Act is in force shall be construed as a reference to the area or areas in which the provision is in force.
