Amendment of section 340.-In section 340 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in sub-section (3), for clause (b), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:- "(b) in any other case, by the presiding officer of the Court or by such officer of the Court as the Court may authorise in writing in this behalf.".
