Police officers to be deemed to be always on duty and to be liable to employment in any part of the State. (1) Every Police officer not on leave or under suspension shall for all purposes of this Act be deemed to be always on duty, and any Police officer or any number or body of Police officers allocated for duty in one part of the State may, if the State Government or the Inspector General so directs, at any time, be employed on Police duty in any other part of the State for so long as the services of the same may be there required. (2) lntimation of proposed transfers to be given by the Inspector-General to the Commissioner and District Magistrate. Timely intimation shall, except in cases of extreme urgency, be given to the 2[Revenue Commissioner] and the District Magistrate by the Inspector-General, of any proposed transfer under this section, and, except, where secrecy is necessary the reasons for the transfer shall be explained; whereupon the officers aforesaid and their subordinates shall give all reasonable furtherance to such transfer. Gujarat Amendment: In Section 28, in sub-section (2), the words 'the Revenue Commissioner and' shall be deleted.3
