Education of children with cerebral palsy and children with multiple disabilities, especially deaf-blind children Appropriate Government shall take necessary steps to ensure that : (i) Suitable pedagogical and other measures are taken so that the child is enabled to overcome such disabilities at the earliest, and is able to fully develop its potential. (ii) Children with severe disabilities and children with multiple disabilities, in particular deaf-blind children, are educated through the most appropriate language, modes and means of communication. Explanation: For the purpose of this section, “deaf-blindness” is combination of hearing and visual impairments, that creates such severe communication, and other developmental and educational needs that can not be accommodated in special education programmes meant solely for children with deafness or children with blindness. 39 53
