(1) This Act may be called the Coal Mines (Conservation and Development) Act, 1974. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such day 1as the Central Government may, by notification, appoint in this behalf. 01/04/1975 vide Notification No. G.S.R. 164(E), dt. 26/03/1975.
