Id., sees. 19 and 42. THE STANDARDS OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ACT, 1985 151 the suspension or cancellation of the licence omits or fails to stop functioning as a licensee under this Act, can be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year.66 Making or manufacturing any weight or measure which, ostensibly but not actually, conforms to the established standards is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both, and, for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and also with fine.67 Selling, using or keeping for use, any unverified or unstamped weight or measure can be punished with imprisonment for term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both, and for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and also with fine.68 This does not apply, in relation to any weight or measure which is used for domestic purposes.69 Any omission to maintain or produce any records or register in accordance with the provisions of this Act is punishable with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, and for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and also with fine.70 Penalty for giving false information about maintaining false records or registers is imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.71 Maintaining of false records or registers is punishable with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, and for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and also with fine.72 Omission to present any weight or measure for verification or re- verification without any reasonable cause can be punished with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, and for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extent to one year and also with fine.7' Similarly, failure to produce for inspection any weight or measure or any document or other record relating thereto, without any- reasonable cause, is punishable with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, and for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and also with fine.74
