(1) This Act may be called the Punjab Local short title, extent Authorities Census Expenses Contribution Act, 1950. (2) It extends .to the whole of *[Union territory of Chandigarh]but nothing herein contained shall affect the powers of the Cantonment authorities with respect to the application of cantonment funds and property. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the 3[Central Government] may, by notification, appoint in this behalf. and Commence- ment.
