Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Functions of the Punjab District Boards Act, 1883 *[or any other Act ‘istrict board which : : > . : may be delegated to for the time being in force] the district board may and the Gram Pancha shall, if so required by Government, delegate any of the following duties to the Gram Panchayat, namely— KX of 1883. (a) any matter under the direct administrative control of the District Board ; (b) the maintenance or improvement of any property under the control or management of the District Board ; (c) the control and management of cattle pounds which are under the control of the District Board : Provided that the funds necessary for the performance of the duties so delegated shall be placed by the District Board at the disposal of the Gram Panchayat, and in case ol de- fault the Government may, by an order in writing, direct the person having the custody of the District Board Fund to place the fund at the disposal of the Gram Panchayat. ‘Substituted by Punjab Act No. 26 of 1960, section 5(c).
