(1) The 1[Ceni:'ral Government] may, by notifica. e ton in the [Official Gazette], _ma_ke rules to regulate the saleof mbeEAd 1o of timber and the establishment of sale depots for e such timber. S'u'ch rules may among other matters— (a)-prescribe the classes of timber to which the rules ‘shall apply ; (b) define what shall be deemed to be a sale depot ; (c) provide for the establishment, registration, re- gulation and inspection of sale depots, and the levy of fees for registration ; prescribed the period for which registration shall hold good and the conditions under which timber may he brought to, stored at, sold at, and removed from, sale depots ; and prohibit the sale of timber at, or the establishment or maintenance of, unregis- tered sale depots ; (d) regulate the use of the sale depot marks and the registration of such marks ; prescribe the time for which registration shall hold good and pro- vide for the levy of fees for registration ; (e) prescribe the registers to be maintained at sale deppts, and provide for the production of such registers, before and for their examination by any forest or police officer authorized in this bghalif by the Divisional Forest Officer or by the District Superintendent of Police respectivé]y ; 'Substitut Reorganlsauo:d( ég;‘m:jlirgnx():rd(s‘\ State Government” by the Punjch current Subjects) Order, 1g5, daptation of Laws on State and Con- i L ) X mentl sof India(Adaptation of Ind?::] I?gvc i anette'al_rly $he Gcveiss e now the Indian Forest Act, 19278)( ord?f 122’7\ 1913 : Pb.
