Inthis Act, unless the context otherwise requires. —_ “ 99 : 1 ‘ (a) “Cotton” means ginned or unginned Cotton or cotton waste ; ’ (6) “bale” means any pressed package of Cotton of whatever size or density ; (c) “admixture of cotton’? means mixture of different varieties of cotton in contravention of rules made under this Act ; (d) “‘cotton ginning factory’ means any premises including the precincts thereof, where cotton 1s ginned or where cotton fibre is Separated from cotton seed by any process whatever involving the use of steam, water or other mechanical power or of electrica] power ; (e) “cotton pressing factory’? means any factory as defined in the Factories Act, 1948, in which 1, cotton is pressed into bales q 1948, (f) ‘‘cotton waste” means droppings, strippings, fly and other waste products of a cotton mill or ofa cotton ginning factory or of a cotton era d factory, but does not include yarn waste : (g) “Indian Central Cotton Committee”? means the Indian Centra] Cotton Committee constituted under the Indian Cotton Cess Act, 1923, xIvol and includes any Sub-Committee appointed “192 by it to perform any function of the Indian Central Cotton Committee under this Act’: ipa te estituted for the words “State of Punjab” by the Punjab Reorganisation (Chandigarh) (Adaptatinon of Laws on State and Concurrent Subjects) Orders, 1968.
