(1) The punishment of whipping as provided Abolition in any law with respect to any ofthe matters specified in the State and Concurrent Lists of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India is hereby abolished. Abolition of (2) If at the commencement of this Act any sentence of whipping imposed upon any offender by a Court or other authority under any law referred to in sub-section (1) has not been executed for any reasons, Whether wholly or partially, the offender shall be dealt with in the manner provided in section 395 of the Code of Criminal Proce- dure, 1898, as if that section had not been repealed by the. Abolition of Whipping Act, 1955 (Act No. 44 of 1955) :For Statement of Objects and Reasons, see Punjab Government Gazette (Extra. ordinary), 1957, page 651.
