Penalty for Contravention of Trees Preservation Order and Adver- tisements Control Order. - (1) If any person contravenes any provision of the Trees Preservation Order or the Advertisements Control of Order, he shall, on conviction, be punishable with fine, which may extend to five hundred rupees, and whoever after having been convicted of the contravention of any provision of either of the said Order continues to contravene the said provisions, shall, on a subsequent conviction, be punishable with fine, as aforesaid and to a further fine which may extend to twenty rupees for each day of continued contravention, after the previous date of conviction. (2) The Court while passing an order under sub-section (1) may direct that any tree or part thereof or any material used for advertisement, which is the subject of the contravention shall be forfeited to the '[Central Government] or impose a fine of an amount which shall be equivalent to the value thereof. *****
