Superior military authority

Superior military authority. For the purpose of sections 86 and 87, a" superior military authority" means- (a) in the case of punishments awarded by a commanding officer, any officer superior in command to such commanding officer; (b) in the case of punishments awarded by any other authority, the Central Government, 1[ the Chief of the Army Staff] or other officer specified by 1[ the Chief of the Army Staff]
