(1) The Librarian shall be appointed by the Executive Council on the recommendations of the Selection Committee constituted for the purpose and he shall be a whole-time salaried officer of the University. (2) The Librarian shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be assigned to him by the Executive Council.
