1 [ 9. Smoking. ---(1) No person shall smoke in any compartment or carriage of the metro railway or in any underground metro railway station. (2) Any person who contravenes the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be liable to penalty of two thousand rupees and forfeiture of his pass or ticket, and may also be removed from the compartment by any metro railway servant. (3) If the person refuses to pay the penalty mentioned in sub-section (2), he shall be produced before the competent court wherein, he shall be punishable with a fine which may extend up to five thousand rupees: Provided that in the absence of special and adequate reasons to the contrary to be mentioned in the judgment of the court, such punishment shall not be less than a fine of two thousand rupees.]
