Definitions.-In this Act, unless otherwise required in the context,- (a) "Competent authority" means any person or authority authorized by the State Government, by notification in the Official Gazette, to perform the functions under this Act; (b) "Corporation' means any body corporate established under any Central or State Act or a company formed and registered under the Companies Act, 1956 (Central Act 1 of 1956); (c) "Prescribed' means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (d) "State Government' means the Government of the State of Bihar; (e) "Underground pipeline' means an underground pipeline laid at a depth of not less than one and a half meter of the land surface.
