Obtain and provide public records.- (1) The State Archives or Regional Archives or Divisional Record Room or District Record Room may accept any record of historical, national or State importance from any private source by way of gift, purchase orotherwise. (2) The State Archives may, in such manner and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed, make any record referred to in sub-section (1) available to any bonafide research scholar. Such research scholar will return such record after study to the Archives on the same day.
