Penalty for offences not otherwise provided for.—Whoever does any act in contravention of any of the provisions of this Act or any rule or order made there under and punishment for which has not been otherwise provided for such contravention, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than six months but which may extend to seven years or with fine which shall not be less than one lakh rupees but which may extend to ten lakh rupees or both.
