Compensation to be paid by a complainant in case of false, frivolous, or vexatious accusation - If in any case instituted upon complaint, the bench of the Gram Katchahry discharges or acquits all or any of the accused and is of the opinion that the accusation against any of the accused was false or frivolous or vexatious, such bench may, for reasons to be recorded in writing, direct that compensation of an amount not exceeding five hundred rupees be paid by the complainant to such accused, and the compensation, if not paid shall be recoverable as if it were a fine imposed by the bench.
