Short title, extent and commencement. --- (1) This Act may be called the Bihar Official Language Act, 1950. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Bihar. (3) It shall come intoforoe on such date is the State Government may by notification appoint for different parts of the State. Provided that the date or dates appointed by the State Government under this subsection in respect of any of parts of the State shall not be later than seven years from the date on which this Act with the assent thereto of the competent authority is first published in the official Gazette.
