- S. 1(1) This Act may be called the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 2014
- S. 2Section 2 amends the Apprentices Act, 1961 to include establishments operating in four or more states as eligible for apprenticeship registration.
- S. 3Section amends minimum age requirement for apprentices in hazardous trades to 18 years.
- S. 4Section 4 amends the process for sending and registering apprenticeship contracts with the Apprenticeship Adviser and portal.
- S. 5After section 5 of the principal Act, the following sections shall be inserted, namely:— “5A

- S. 9Modifies apprentice work hours and leave entitlements to align with employer-determined conditions and establishment practices.
- S. 10Section 10 mandates employers to provide prescribed information until a portal is developed, then report apprenticeship data on it.
- S. 11Section 11 amends the principal Act to allow trade apprentices to take proficiency tests conducted by authorized agencies.
- S. 12Section mandates employers to create policies for hiring apprentices who finish training in their establishment.
- S. 13Section amends penalties for non-compliance with apprenticeship requirements, adding fines and new clauses for non-qualified apprentices and contract violations.
- S. 14Section 14 allows making rules under section 37 of the principal Act retrospectively, but not in a way that harms affected persons.
