(1) This Act may be called the Beedi Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1976. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. Came into force on 15/02/1977, vide G.S.R. 55(E), dated 2nd February, 1977, published in the Gazette of India, Extra., Pt. II, Sec. 3(i), p. 165.
