Sh or t title, ex tent an d co m m encem ent.—(1) This Act may be called the Assam Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1958. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint ; and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act or for different are as or for different classes of undertakings or for different classes of goods.
