(i) The State Government shall, as soon as it may be possible after the preparation of the first Register, by notification in the Official Gazette, establish a Council to be called the Assam Veteri nary Council, and such Council shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and common seal and shall, by the said nam e, sue and be sued; (ii) The Council shall also act as an advisory body to the State Government in all policy matters concerning the Veterinary profession, Veterinary education and development of Animal Husbandry in the State.
