Dude• or II 0. (1) It shall be the duty of every Police PoUce Offi- Officer- c:en. (a) to co-operate with the Board for carrying into effect and enforcing the provisions of this Act or any rule or regulation or scheme made thereull.der; (b) to communicate without delay to the proper officer or employee of the Board any informa- tion, Which such police officer received, of a design to commit, or of the oommissi()n of, anyoffenceagainst this Act or any rule or regulation or scheme made there under; and 4 Tim /\SRAM GAZETTE. (1) Any police officer not below the rank offenders. of a head constable, may arrest any person who Cfl:nmits in his presence, any offence against this Act c·r any rule or regula tic nor scheme made there- under, if the name c r address of such person be uriknvwn to· him and if such persun on demand declares to give bs name or address, or gives a name or address which such officer has reason to believe to be false. (2) No person so arrested shall be detained in custody after his true name and address are ascer- tained or for any longer time than is necessary for bringing him before a magistrate and in no case shall such detention exceed twenty-four hours from the time of arrest without the orders of a magis~ trate.
