(1) Th e Court receiving the deposit shall in Procedure case (a) of section 54 forthwith forward the same by f° r paymen t postal money ord er to the address of the lan dlord ; in case (b) of tha t section it shall forthwith cause to be deposited affixed in a conspicuous place at the court house a notification of the receipt thereo f and shall cause notice to be served on every person who, the Court « has reason to believe, claims or is entitled to the de po sit; the Court may pay the amount deposited as rent to any person appearing to the Court to be so entitled or may retain it pending the decision of the * Civil Court or to the person so entitled. (2) If no paym ent is made under sub-section (1) before the expiration of three years from the date on which a deposit is made, the amount deposited may, in the absence of any order of the Civil Co urt to the contrary, be repaid to the depositor upon his a pplica tion, and on his retu rning the receipt given by the Court when the rent was deposited. (3) No suit or other proceeding shal be instituted against the [Governm ent]' or against any officer of the [Government] 1 in respect of anything done by a court receiving a deposit under section 54, but nothing in this section shall prevent any person entitled to receive the amount of any such deposit from recover ing the same from a person to whom it has been paid under this section.
