In the proviso to section 39 of the principal Act, 1 4 V* (j) for the words ‘this Act’ and ‘ten years’ the words ‘the Assam (Temporary-Settled Districts) Tenancy (Amendm ent) Act, 1953 and ‘five years’ shall respectively be substituted.
