(1)The prisons are protected places and in the interest of safety and security of the prisons and persorts detained therein, no person shall, without the permission of the State Govemm~mt or· any officer authorized by the State Government in this behalf, take any · photograph or videograph·of the.interior of a prison. ' . (2) Whoever, contrary to the provisions of sub- section (1), tat<es in an unauthorize~ or surreptitious manner any photograph or videograph of the ·int~nor of a prison, including any aerial photograph or videograph • taken from a high-rise facility, a~d whoever contrary to the aforesaid provisions, publishes or telecasts or otherwise displays such photograph or vid~ograph of the_ interior of ~ prison taken in an unauthorized ot surreptitious manner, and whoever aids or abets any offence made punishable by this section, shall, on epnviction before a Magistrate, ·be liable to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding six months or to fine not exceeding one thousand rupees or to both. 1407 1408 THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, MAY 30, 2013 Power to arrest for offences under sections 75 and76
