(1) The Police Act 1861 (Act V of 1861), in its application to the State of Assam, is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or purported to be done or any action taken or instituted under the Act so repealed and the rules made there under shall, be deemed to have been validly done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act. (3) All references in any enactments to any of the provisions of the Act so repealed shall be construed reference to the provisions of this Act. .
