Section 127G

No person shall, on the date or dates on which po ll is tak en at any pollin g station commit any of the follow ing station or at any public or private place within a distance of one hundred me tres of the polling station, namely (i) canvassing for votes, or (ii) soliciting the vote of any elector, or (iii) persuading any elector not to vote for any particular candidate, or (iv) persuading any elector not to vote at the election, or 298 THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY. MARCH 30, 2000 (v) exhibiting any notice or sign, other than an official notice relating to the Panchayat election. Any person who contravenes these provisions shall be punishable with fine which may extend to two hundred and fifty rupees. Any offence punishable under this section shall be congnizable and bailable. Penalty for disord erly conduct in or near pollin g stations.
