In Section 17 of the principal Act,— of Section 17 of Assam Act ( j) jn clause (iv) of sub-section (1), the words ‘ and Gram Sabhas c nstituted under the Assam Grarodan Act, 1961 (Assam Act I of 1962)” shall be inserted, between the words ' ‘villages” and “ falling” ; 4 (2) after sub-section (5), the following shall be inserted as sub-section (6), namely:— “(6) When any area is included in or excluded from the territorial jurisdiction of an Anchalik Panchayat under sub-section (2) of Section 5 of this Act, the Anchalik Panchayat consti tuted under Section 17 for the said Anchalik Pan chayat area shall stand dissolved, and the State Govern ment shall make such alternative arrangements as may be deemed necessary for carrying out the functions, duties and powers of the Anchalik Panchayat so dis solved till an Anchalik Panchayat is reconstituted for the Anchalik Panchayat area in the m anner provided in this Act : Provided that when an Anchalik Panchayat is dissol ved under this sub-section during the currency of its term , the term of the Anchalik Panchayat reconstituted under this sub-section shall be till the expiry of the term of the Anchalik Panchayat so dissolved.” AiuendmenL
