Notwithstanding anything in this Act. and the Statutes, the first 2[Vice-chancellor] and the first Registrar of the 1[Law University] shall be appointed by the 3[Chancellor] on a salary, to be fixed by him and each of the said officers shall hold office for a period to be fixed by him but not exceeding three years.
