If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the of difficul- provisions of this Act, the State Government may tles' make such order, not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, as may appear to it to be necessary for the purpose of removing the difficulty. Power to 9.(1) The State Government may, by notification in make rules, official Gazette, make rules to carry out the purposes of this Act. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for—- (a) furnishing of information required for the purpose of this Act; 3 9 (b) production of documents; o (c) holding of enquiries and enforcement of attendan ce of persons at such enquiries O and their examination on oath or affirma tion; (d) any othe r matter which by this Act has to be or may be prescribe do « (3) Every rule made under this Act shall be laid as soon as may be, after it is made, before the Assam Legislative Assembly while it is in session for a total period of fourteen days which may be comorised in one session or in to successive sessions, and, if before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the session immediately following, the Assam Legislative Assembly agree in making any modification in the rule or the Assam Legislative Assembly agree that the rule should not be made, the rule shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be so, however that any such modifica tion or annulm ent shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule.
