Amendment of Section 2 of Assam Act VlH of 1936.— Clause (XI) of Section 2 of the Principal Act shall be substituted by the following, na mely:— “ town land means any land within an area declared or deemed to be a municipality or notified are a under the Assam Municipal Act, 1923 (Assam Act I of 1923) and any other land which the State Government may declare under the Assam L and and Revenue Regulation, 1886 (Regulation I of 1886) or under the provisions of this Act, to be town lan d” . /
